FIRESMART DEMONSTRATION TOURS

As part of the Slocan Valley Wildfire Resiliency Program SIFCo selected a community building within the Villages of Slocan, Silverton and New Denver to be Assessed and Mitigated for Wildfire Risk.

These projects were carried out in order to protect critical community infrastructure and to provide educational examples to homeowners.

• In Slocan we assessed and mitigated the Slocan Village Office.

• In SIlverton we assessed and mitigated the Silverton Firehall. We also installed a beautiful firesmart garden designed by local landscaper Ray Nikkel.

• In New Denver we assessed and mitigated the Community Gym.

We are offering tours or our demonstration projects guided by our Local Firesmart Representative so this will be a great opportunity to ask any questions.

The dates of the tours are as follows:

• SLOCAN VILLAGE OFFICE - TUES, SEPTEMBER 13TH at 11AM

• SILVERTON FIREHALL - WED, SEPTEMBER 14TH at 11AM

• NEW DENVER COMMUNITY GYM - THURS, SEPTEMBER 15TH at 11AM
