Directors & Staff
SIFCo’s directors are:

Stephan Martineau
Stephan, the current president of SIFCo, moved to the Slocan Valley in 1991. He has been a director of the Elliot-Anderson-Christian-Trozzo Watersheds Association since 1994. He was co-chair of the Slocan Valley Watershed Alliance from 1997 to 2000, and in this function, he coordinated the FLOW99 Conference that aimed at bringing the logging and environmental communities closer together. He is also founder and director of an international charitable organization that works in the field of human consciousness evolution, specifically applying an Integral framework to environmental work, education, parenting and mediation. He is married and father of one little girl.

Mark Septav
Mark Septav was councillor for the Village of Slocan from 2002 until 2008. He moved to the Slocan Valley in 1981 and worked for Slocan Forest Products for 17 years. In that role he was both mill supervisor and forestry superintendent. He was instrumental in the creation of the alternate harvesting crew and supervised its work for 3 years. He is owner of Western Aircraft and has been married for the last 15 years.

Bruce Charlton
Bruce Charlton, Vice-President of SIFCo, has been a director of the Red Mountain Residents Association since 1998. He moved to the Slocan Valley in 1997. Prior to moving to the Slocan Valley, Bruce was an elected representative of the city of Hamilton. He has been married for 30 years and is the father of two.

Lisa Farr
Lisa Farr, Secretary and Treasurer of SIFCo, moved to the Slocan Valley almost 30 years ago. She was very involved in the Vallican Whole School for most of the 80’s, and has been a director of the Elliot-Anderson-Christian-Trozzo Watersheds Association since 2002. She is a personal coach in private practice, an avid gardener and a passionate home creator, and the mother of 2 grown-up daughters.

Phil Larstone
Phil Larstone moved to Slocan Valley in 1993 from Fort-St-John, where he was the owner of a electrical contracting firm. Phil sat on the board of the Energy Coalition of BC for many years, and has been a director of the Winlaw Watershed Committee for 12 years. He is an alternative energy consultant, a musical instrument maker, an electrician, musician and passionate community organizer, as well as the father of two.

Luce Paquin
Luce Paquin obtained her BSc and MSc in Wildlife Management from the University of Quebec in Rimouski in the late 90’s and then moved back to British Columbia where she has been working as a registered professional biologist. She has been involved in many forestry and biology projects all across the country. Luce presently runs an environmental consulting firm from her home just outside of Silverton where she and her husband have a small farm.
